Luxury rentals in Copacabana.
Copacabana is the grand old beachfront — a four-kilometre crescent under the black-and-white wave pattern of its promenade, with Sugarloaf at the Leme end and the old fort at Posto 6. It is denser and more round-the-clock than Ipanema, and it is where Rio throws its New Year's Réveillon, when more than two million people fill the sand for the fireworks off the barges on Avenida Atlântica.
The two homes we rent here are penthouses. One is a beachfront three-suite penthouse; the other is a five-suite duplex with a pool and a full sweep of the beach that sleeps ten. Nightly rates start around US$495. Copacabana runs a little softer on occupancy than Ipanema across the year — closer to seven nights in ten — which means more availability outside the peak, but Réveillon and Carnival still sell out first.
