Art de Vivre is a CRECI-licensed brokerage that also manages short-stay rentals, operating across Zona Sul, the West Zone, and the coastal destinations where cariocas keep second homes — from Copacabana and Ipanema to Joá, Angra dos Reis and Búzios.

We are a boutique brokerage — brokers who pick up the phone, who know the doormen by name, and who answer in English, Português, Français, and Italiano. That's the model. It's worked since 2011 and we don't plan to change it.

The person you'll deal with

Charles Jonas runs the firm.

Charlie founded Art de Vivre in 2011 and still runs it. He's a CRECI-licensed Rio broker who grew up between Brazil and Europe, which is why ADV answers in English, Português, Français and Italiano — and why the firm reads as carioca to a buyer from Milan and as European to a family from São Paulo.

He stays close to the work. Charlie answers WhatsApp personally, walks every apartment the brokerage takes on, and keeps the relationships — building managers, doormen, maître d's, two Rio immigration lawyers on speed-dial — that make a closing or a stay go smoothly. He's the named author on every guide we publish because that's where the knowledge actually comes from: the closing table, not a brochure.

What we do

Buy, rent, sell — and the management in between.

We don't just sell and rent beautiful homes. We arrange every service and experience you might need while you're here.

Sales

Apartments and villas brokered to closing — escrow, escritura, ITBI. The listings other agents won't show, plus quiet off-market sales for owners who want them.

Short-term rentals

Hand-picked villas and apartments for a week or a season, with daily housekeeping, a private chef, drivers and boats arranged on one bill.

Long-term leases

Furnished and unfurnished homes for residents and relocating families, with the contract, guarantees and paperwork handled in plain language.

Rental management

We run owners' homes as short-stay residences when they're away — bookings, check-in, maintenance, payments and clear monthly reporting.

Experiences

Speedboats in Angra, helicopters over Cristo and Pão de Açúcar, jeep tours through Tijuca, private chefs, surf lessons and Carnaval at the Sambódromo.

Concierge & introductions

The restaurant tables we actually book for clients, plus introductions to the immigration lawyers and bankers who handle visas and accounts for foreign buyers.

Mateus and the concierge desk arrange the boats, helicopters, chefs, drivers and restaurant reservations — and confirm every booking by email and WhatsApp.
